I am a playwright and novelist who lives in New York City but spends much time in Los Angeles. My novel, Becoming The Butlers, published by Bantam Books, was chosen as one of the best novels for young adults by The New York Public Library and optioned for film rights by Warner Brothers. My plays have been produced in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Edinburgh, Scotland and Dublin, Ireland. My short play, BEFORE, performed at The Atlantic Theater in New York City, was chosen as one of the best short plays of 2016 in The United States and will be published by Applause Books. My play about cyberbullying, I KNOW WHAT BOYS WANT, was chosen as one of the best plays in an off off Broadway prodction by NYTHEATER.COM and was the best selling play by the published INDIE THEATER NOW.
I am the recipient of The MacDowell Colony Fellowship, The Ellizabeth Janeway prize for writing from Barnard College and A Mirrelies Fellowship in writing from Stanford University. I am a member of The Dramatists Guild, The League of Professional Theater Women and The International Center of Women Playrwights. I was recently included as one of the female playwrights in the photography exhibit NECESSARY EXPOSURE at Dixon Place theater in New York City focusing on female playwrights.
My plays are taught at various universities and are published by Applause Books and Next Stages Press.
