Julius Galack He is 1998 Playwriting graduate of the Yale School of Drama. He is also a graduate of NYU holding both a M.A. from the interdisciplinary Gallatin School and a B.F.A. from the Tisch School of Arts.
His most recent production was "Processing in the Park" which was performed during the 2013 Hollywood Fringe Festival at the Asylum Lab and earlier in April of 2013 at the Electric Lodge.
In July 2014, he has just finished post-production of a 29 minute film version of his play "All Things Chicken" which he has just begun to submit to film festivals.
He directed a short film version of one of his one-acts, "FIRST NIGHT" which was an official selection of the 2010 Ventura Film Festival and the 2010 Flagstaff Film Festival. It was also shown in the 2012 Hollywood Fringe Festival, was nominated in 2012 for Best Short Film by Stay Tuned TV website it and was broadcast on Palm Springs PBS-KVCR on 1/12/13 during the Shorts Showcase program. In NYC, he had a number of one-act plays produced Off-Off Broadway including three on Theatre Row, and regionally at the Atlantic Stage (S. Carolina), Aloha Performing Arts Company (Hawaii), New Jersey Repertory Company, Brick Playhouse in Philadelphia and the Theatre Asylum, the Hothouse, the Electric Lodge etc. in LA. He has also directed, designed lights, stage managed, acted, etc. at similar venues.
At Yale, Julius is particularly fond of his thesis reading of "BLACK FLAMINGOS" at the Yale Rep which was directed by Obie Award winning director Evan Yionoulis and featured a superlative cast that included Kevin Geer and Oscar and Tony nominated actress Amy Ryan.
At NYU, Julius shared the stage with Alec Baldwin in a production of A Midsummer Nights Dream. Also while there, Julius directed his one-act play "TAUTOLOGY" which featured John Leguizamo.
His screenplay "PRAY WITH A BULLET " was named a Top 10 Finalist in the 2010 American Zoetrope (judge: Francis Ford Coppola) Screenplay Contest.
Finally, Julius has taught creative writing at Yale College and playwriting at Quinnipiac University, been a script analyst for USA Films and had 7 monologues published by Smith & Kraus as part of a four volume series entitled Audition Arsenal.
