Benjamin Scuglia is an author and playwright, actor, producer and stage manager.
Benjamin's short "Gay for Pay" was a Top 30 FInalist for the 40th Annual Samuel French Off-Off-Broadway Short Play Festival in 2015.
His short plays "Last of His Kind" and "Library" were co-winners of the Pride Play Reading Festival sponsored by the City of West Hollywood and the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights in 2015 and 2016, and were subsequently selected for production for WestFest 2015 and '16 at Theatre West.
His one-act "The Man Who Saved Everything" will receive a Spring 2018 world premiere at Theatre West.
Benjamin has produced and stage managed around Los Angeles. In addition to many shows for the Hollywood Fringe Festival, recent gigs include "Wicked Lit 2016," Dina Morrone's "The Italian in Me," Leslie Caveny's "One Woman Gone Wrong" and a workshop production of the new play "God Looked Away" starring Judith Light and Al Pacino.
Benjamin is a member of Theatre West and the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights. He frequently collaborates with Classical Theatre Lab, Fierce Backbone and Theatre Planners.
His most recent book is "Filthy Remarks" (2013, Bruno Gmunder), a collection of quotes about sex and relationships (published under a pen name).
