Synopsis:
Curious to meet the author of the strange new fairy-tale "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," Victorian writer, social activist and theatrical impresario Charles Dickens accepts an invitation to pose for mysterious photographer C. L. Dodgson, only to find "Lewis Carroll" to be not at all what he expected. This two-man comedy imagines the revealing meeting of two quirky literary giants.
Notes:
Easy to produce 2-man show that plays like a Victorian "Odd Couple." Accurate historical fiction that English teachers will want to show students (14 and up). Great showcase for 54 year old ham and 34 year old heartbreaker. Features the fascinating process of making a photograph using collodion on glass plates circa 1866.
