Synopsis:
KING SAUL was a dangerous mistake. The young shepherd, DAVID, may be the fix. And in the world of the Old Testament, THE PROPHET SAMUEL needs a fix immediately if the people of Israel are going to survive in their new land. The Prophet Samuel secretly anoints a naïve, devout David, to usurp the throne, then dispatches him to serve as the paranoid King Saul's private musician. Over a series of bedroom conversations, Saul's and David's relationship transforms into a fragile, volatile intimacy. As bloody political choices draw near, David questions where his loyalty to God ends and his relationship with King Saul begins. Kings of Israel takes the Biblical story in a provocative new direction. The play contains sexual content, violence, and adult language and is for mature audiences.
