Synopsis:
This timely, ensemble comedy is the lighter side of “The Transgender Tipping Point” [TIME Magazine, 6/9/14] and January 2017's National Geographic, “Gender Revolution.” It's Thanksgiving and ditzy, self-centered Sarah Kretcher is not a happy camper. Her plumbing has gone haywire, her gravy sucks, and her family, friends and maid have gotten on her nerves for this, that and the other. Sarah thinks nothing could get worse -- but things can always get worse. Especially when her ex-husband, Sy, decides to stop by uninvited, wearing high heels, a pathetic wig from Goodwill and a Blue Light Special dress from K-Mart. At first Sarah is angry and embarrassed, but as a former employee of Madam Va Va Voom Beauty Supplies, Sarah is up to the challenge. She puts aside her hostility and selfishness and reluctantly (at first) beautifies a transitioning Sy into “Sue,” the woman of his dreams. In making Sue a better woman, Sarah does the same for herself.
