Synopsis:
This piece is about a young boy who witness the death of his grandfather in Allegheny Mts. of Virginia. Most of the characters appear to have stepped out from within the pages of a William Faulkner Novel. The play is narrated by the ghost of Sweet Pea,a young Blues Singer who sings and plays banjo or guitar.
Notes:
No set but and open stage. Some of the actors can play two characters. There is physical movement. The supernatural element of death is represented by a mime character,and there is a complete Country Sound Scape of church bells, train sounds, motorcycle noise and hound dogs. This is the rual South in the early forties with all its wonderful backwoods country characters.
