Synopsis:
Herb Thornton, a wealthy bigot, ultra conservative, Republican businessman and his wife Carla, more liberal, have a spur of the moment 4th of July barbecue. Their usual friends have all made plans. Hence, the guest end up being one of Herb's suck up employees and his wife. They bring some of their friends, who also bring some of their friends. The results is a house full of guest, all from different ethnic, racial, social and cultural backgrounds and different sexual preferences. Several unplanned guest show up in the form of two Hell's Angels and the police. The party starts out on a relatively cautious, civil note but after several hours of libations, the prejudices and biases of various guest come to the surface. These verbal confrontations culminate in a fight, a drug deal going bad, and a premature childbirth. Over the course of the evening, several people go through a social catharsis and some end up leaving with a different person from whom they came with.
