About Thomas J. Misuraca
Tom Misuraca is a Boston native now living in Los Angeles. Over eighty of his short stories have appeared in publications worldwide. Two of his novels have been published, including the vampire parody novel, Lifestyles of the Damned.Tom was a late bloomer in the theater world, but quickly adapted to it. His one-act plays have been produced in New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Madison, Portland, San Diego, Long Island, Brooklyn, Buffalo and Halifax, England. He’s received audience favorite awards for Haunted and For Whom the Speed Dating Bell Tolls at The Secret Rose Theatre's MonoSlam; Camp Soggy Lake at Youth Education on Stage's Summer Shorts; Manservant 3000 at The Three Rose Theatre’s The Writer Speaks; Communication at PianoFight’s ShortLived 2.0, Falling Bodies at Bellarmine University’s Anything Galileo Festival, and three years in a row with Offender, Pie Us! and No Problem at the Tehachapi Community Theatre’s Playwright’s Festival.
His full-length musical, Geeks!, was produced this past March 2012 at Write Act Repertory in Hollywood and was remounted in June. It played to sold-out houses and recevied great reviews. It will produced off-off Broadway in September. Currently, his play, The ParaAbnormals is playing to sold-out audiences at Zombie Joe's Underground Theatre in North Hollywood. In November, his play Edgar will be produced by Play Club West. And in March of 2013, his full-length play, Tenants, will be produced by the Tehachapi Community Theatre.
Tom is a member of the Los Angeles Alliance of Playwrights and FirstStage L.A., where he serves as President of the Board.
