Official ALAP Events

  • ALAP It Up!

    11/16/24 - 11/17/24

We have a wonderful lineup of panelists and speakers—all bright stars in LA's amazing theatre community--plus a creative writing workshop and our annual play reading festival.  It's a full weekend of fabulous events for playwrights!

The Venue:  ALAP It Up! will be held at the West Hollywood Aquatics and Recreation Center (also known as the "ARC"), located on North San Vicente Boulevard n West Hollywood, 90069, between Santa Monica Blvd and Melrose. (Across the street from the Pacific Design Center)

The proper address to use for parking is 8750 El Tovar Place, West Hollywood.  This is directly across N. San Vicente Blvd. from the Pacific Design Center, a little north of Melrose on San Vicente.  It's really like an alley behind the ARC. El Tovar Pl. (which hits Robertson) takes you directly to the parking structure entrance. Once parked in the structure, you just walk across El Tovar to the ARC and take the elevators to the main lobby on the 2nd floor. There's 2-hour validation available in the lobby; rates thereafter are reasonable.

Note: Playpen sessions are not listed below. The announcement for Playpen registration went out in October, and those participating playwrights have been contacted privately about their time slots.
