About Makena Metz

Makena Metz is a playwright, bookwriter & lyricst for musical theatre writing, a producer, and an LA native who intends to redefine Epic Theatre for the 21st Century. She received her B.F.A. in Playwriting & Theatre Directing from Columbia College Chicago (Class of 17'). 

Makena was very excited to have interned this summer for the Ojai Playwrights Conference as a literary intern with Alice Tuan. She was also ecstatic to have attended The Kennedy Center's Summer Playwriting Intensive for their annual workshop lead by Gary Garrison. 

Makena is a graduate of New Musicals Inc. CORE Curriculum for Musical Theatre Writing and is working on two full length musicals with composers extraordinare, Kat Zimmerman and Angela Parrish.
