About Rom Watson
Rom Watson is the author of the full-length plays The Norma Conquests, which had its world premiere in September of 2023 in Visalia; Pinocchio in The Bronx; The Beaumont Reunion; Lying Beneath the Surface, a science-fiction murder mystery; and Image and Likeness, a drama about religion that is also a murder mystery. Image and Likeness won the 2010 ALAP/West Hollywood gay play reading festival. Fifteen of his 38 short plays have been produced, including Three Syllables of Shame (seven productions); Performance Anxiety; Mead and Stu go to SeaWorld; and three plays produced by The Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights: Mr. Cuddles (2015 Hollywood Fringe), Celebrity Death Watch (2017 Hollywood Fringe), and Norma Gets the Axe, (2018 Hollywood Fringe). His full-length plays have had readings at The Road Theatre, Moving Arts, Fierce Backbone, The MET Theatre, Alliance Repertory Company, Unknown Theatre, The Laura Henry Studio, Celebration Theatre and Neo Ensemble Theatre. Rom studied playwrighting with Bill Chang, and lyric writing with the late Marshall Barer. He is a member of The Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights, and has been a member of The Dramatists Guild of America, Inc. since 1996.
