About Sarah Grochala
Sarah Grochala is a neurodiverse writer best-known for her Amnesty award-wining play S-27, which starred a young Sarah Snook in its Australian premiere at the Griffin Theatre in 2010. Her most recent play INTELLIGENCE is the winner of the 2023 Women’s Prize for Playwriting (UK). Sarah originally hails from the UK but is of Polish heritage and spent her childhood vacationing in communist Warsaw where she honed her impressive queuing skills. She trained as a screenwriter at the National Film and Television School in London and is currently studying on the Professional Program in TV Drama Writing at UCLA. She writes female-led dramas which dare to confront the darker aspects of life and find wonder, humour and heart in them. In her spare time, she enjoys writing audio-drama episodes of Dr Who for Big Finish Productions where she specialises in stories featuring alien invasions in period settings and robots, and sometimes both.
