First Night
by Julius Galacki
Runtime: 7 - 8 mins
Cast: 1 female, 1 male
Synopsis: In this short comedy, Sarah and Thomas have just had their first sexual encounter - the culmination of which went by far faster than either of them would have preferred. Nonetheless, they fumble in and out toward a positive degree of post-coital communication - enough to find out that the second time is always better... well, at least a little bit.
Notes: This play was originally produced at the Yale Cabaret in New Haven in 1997 as part of collective evening by different writers under the umbrella title "Quickies." A revised version was read at The Brewery arts complex on April 14, 2007 with other one-acts I've written under the umbrella title "Fate Delayed." I've just adapted this script into a short film, which was shot on a hi-def Canon 5D Mark II. Post was completed in Feb. 2010 and it has just been selected to be screened at the Flagstaff Film Festival in August 2010. A standard definition trailer can be viewed at the IMDB page listed below and the Vimeo link is the full film, with a revised edit in 2019.
