Goin' to Beal

Synopsis: Two former slaves and a wounded Irish Union soldier seek comfort from the coming storm, the night and a battle in a boxcar in NO Man's Swamp when they are joined by the infamous, blind bible quoting hangman, Mercy Kilwick and his cracker associates: Sheriff "Banjo" Smith and Deputy Dove "Boy" Johnson. All hell breaks loose from Mercy's brutal interrogation.

Notes: One set:Int. of the boxcar. This is a physical play involved with movement:sadistic acts of brutality, the beating,shootings,knifing and dying. A choreographer will be needed to stage the action. There is Southern "Backwoods" humor sprinkled throughout the piece.
