The Inanimates

Synopsis:

In the comedy, The Inanimates: Scenes from Dr. Abernathy’s Casebook, a young man, George, is in enough mental anguish that he seeks out psychiatrist, Dr. Abernathy, to begin treatment.  He does not understand why there should be any delay and gives the doctor’s receptionist, Mabel, a very hard time.  When George finally begins to see Dr. Abernathy, he assails the doctor with the struggles he is going through and wants immediate relief.  His struggles are many, and his descriptions are filled with disparaging remarks and personal put-downs.  The question we are confronted with is: Can he be helped?
