THE TRAIN FROM GODOLPHIN uses the setting and a few of the characters of a 1964 Hollywood movie, THE OUTRAGE, which was itself based on Akira Kurosawa's RASHOMON. It is set at a train station in the Old West, circa 1883. The ten characters are all trying to escape from the town, Silver Gulch, each for a different reason. One of the characters from THE OUTRAGE who also appears in THE TRAIN FROM GODOLPHIN is Juan Carrasco, the notorious bandit, who was played by Paul Newman in the movie. Another character is Edwin, a professional conman and grifter who fought in the Civil War.
